About Garrett

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

At my current size & weight, I would best be described as a prototypical slot receiver with a full route tree who excels at creating separation, has terrific catch in traffic & contested catch abilities and breakaway speed in the open field. On defense, i have excelled in both man to man and zone coverage schemes, am usually asked to shadow my opponents best receiver.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I pride myself on not just being a good athlete, but a good teammate/student/brother and friend and I've been named a captain on every team I've been on. My parents started me in school early, so i've always been the youngest in every grade and on every football team, so I've had to compete hard to outwork older, bigger, faster peers since I started playing football at 7 years old.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I've been acting since the age of 4 : https://www.imdb.com/name/nm9003475/ Learning my lines helped prepare me for the level of study necessary to learn a playbook, and the professionalism needed to excel when all eyes are on you and expectations are high. I've been named vice president twice in my school career so far. I'm also a leader in my church Youth Group.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

High Football IQ, Attention to detail, Self Confidence, Learning how to control my emotions in stressful or high leverage situations, Discipline & Hard work, Leading by example, and Good sportsmanship

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I broke both bones in my left forearm arm in 7th grade, during my first school wrestling match, and had to heal & rehab in a short window of time to be ready for my next football season

What type of college are you looking for?

My academics are very important to me so I want to make sure the school i attend values intelligent football players who care about their grades. This is why I've always been drawn to a school like Ohio State. They have a long track record of producing intelligent, high caliber wide receivers.
