turned the game with a huge special teams play. His blocked punt set up a score and swung all the momentum to Washington Township. That single play deflated Hillsborough and helped pave the way for a dominant win.

has already built a reputation for himself as a dominant figure upfront. Racking up an impressive 9.5 sacks in 2024, opposing QBs became very familiar with Gabe as he consistently found his way into the backfield to apply pressure to the pocket. Coming off of the edge with speed, Gabe utilized a wide array of hand techniques, quick feet, and straight up bull rushing to shake off the blocker and zero in on the QB. Gabe’s longer arms allows him to keep the blocker a distance away, preventing them from getting in close to hold him, while it also allows him to move them at will and make a move on a runner as they try to run through the gaps. Gabe swallowed up runners heading his direction, as he was able to make 63 tackles on the season. As he is only entering his junior season in 2025, there is plenty of time for Gabe to draw considerable attention from programs across the country. This is a name I think we will hear more and more about as he progresses through his high school career.

Gabe Palaganas, standing at 6’1” and weighing 210 pounds, is a dynamic interior defensive lineman known for his explosiveness and athleticism. His long frame contributes to his disruptive presence on the field. Notably, Gabe possesses an exceptional initial burst off the line, making him a formidable force in pressuring opposing quarterbacks. While he favors the swim move, diversifying his repertoire of pass rush moves would enhance his effectiveness, especially against tougher opponents. In run defense, he demonstrates the ability to either gap shoot or hold the point of attack with consistent leverage. To elevate his game further, Gabe should refine his pass rush plan by incorporating additional moves into his arsenal. With continued development, he has the potential to emerge as the top defensive lineman in his class. Anticipated to attract divisional offers this season, Gabe is poised to build upon his past successes and make significant strides in his Sophmore year.

is a lineman worth monitoring the next several seasons. Fundamentally, we see him get hands on his pressure key, feel the pressure, and fight against it winning leverage opportunities. Despite typically playing off the edge, I was impressed with with how hard Palaganas goes when generating an interior pass rush. He plays low and changes directions fairly well for someone his age at his position. Disciplined as well, Palaganas plays at the appropriate depth n the backfield and gets his hands up to deflect passes when he cannot get home. An area to monitor is his tackling. Palaganas will benefit from breaking done and actively and aggressively attacking the ball carrier’s hip.

may be one of the best 2027 defensive linemen I’ve seen. Explosive off of the line, Gabe was able to apply ample pressure in 2023 as he racked up 5.5 sacks. Gabe’s hand skills really separate him from others at his level. He has extremely quick hands that can fight off a lineman’s reach, but also is equipped with longer arms that allows him to chase a quarterback from behind and reel them in. Capping it off with a powerful push, Gabe can bull rush the line and simply drive the blocker backwards and force him out of his way.
