With a lot of well-known names and returning starters from Kentucky Future Stars teams of years past, I was pleasantly surprised to see Foster Thompson Foster Thompson 6'2" | 300 lbs | OL Taylor County | 2029 KY came away as the most consistent Offensive Lineman on this year’s eighth-grade team, in my eyes. Participating in his first Future Stars event, Thompson started at Right Guard for Big Blue and really made same nice blocks throughout the day. He’s played a lot of Offensive Tackle up until this game, but the move inside seemed to be the correct one for him. Thompson did a nice job drive blocking on run plays, and kept a ravenous Tennessee Future Stars D-Line at bay the best he could.

Foster Thompson Foster Thompson 6'2" | 300 lbs | OL Taylor County | 2029 KY is a big body and was clearly the largest guy up front for Region 1 during the KYMSFA BOTR in March. Following a solid season, Thompson picked up an Honorable Mention D2 Player of the Year nomination. He has played Offensive Tackle, but he may be better served as a Guard at this point.

When looking at the Offensive Line unit for Taylor County Middle School, my eyes immediately went to Forster Thompson. Primarily a Right Tackle, he’s a big boy with a broad frame. When evaluating him comparatively across the country, he’s built more like an interior O-Linemen or a Defensive Tackle at this point. Increasing his flexibility and overall athleticism will do him well going forward if he wants to stay on the outside. However, there’s nothing with an incoming freshman with his size and ability to down or drive block.
