. A legit 6’5 with a traditional pocket-passer size and build, Dyvik is primarily a hooper and is in his first year starting for the Spartans after filling in for some of the massive cleats on Orono’s 2025 4A state championship-winning squad. Dyvik, who holds a D3 basketball roster offer from Bethel, was a Metro West All-Conference pick last winter and posted 11.1 PPG, 7.5 RPG, and 2.8 APG on a 46.2 FG%, has really been tearing it up with the current undefeated Spartans‘ football squad, going 51-85 (60%) for 938 yards and 11 TDs to 5 INTs + 79 rushes for 454 yards and 6 TDs rushing.
Dyvik’s coaching staff are big believers in his D1 ceiling as a quarterback, and from what I’ve heard, Dyvik is a respectful, polite, and competitive kid who is well liked by his peers and the adults around him at Orono. It’s hard to argue against the tools, production, athleticism, and natural ability. The breakdown of some of his film is below:
vs. Zimmerman:
dropped the ball in the bucket on fade routes, can stretch the field vertically as easily as he can accurately
quick, compact release, can get the ball out fast and accurately in the face of pressure
made a beautiful throw on a dig route in between – no joke – four Thunder defenders in what was a college-sized coverage window
vs. Byron:
fluid arm motion can deliver balls off-platform and off his back foot smoothly
threw a beautiful ball falling, through a tackle, and off one foot,
vs. Becker
big-bodied ball carrier will run your butt over and get upfield in a hurry. His size also allows him to consistently fall forward and for positive and/or extra yardage
can run the read-option effectively
displayed ball placement into tight windows around the MOF
has to be accounted for as a potential ball carrier and scrambler
has the arm strength to always lead his receivers open
touch and placement on a vertical route that saw him lead his receiver away from the incoming safety
Dyvik can move the chains routinely and flash big-time arm strength and accuracy, plus a natural feel for the game, which is far from typical for a first-year starter. Has Orono playing at a very high level after the Spartans graduated some serious talent from their 2025 Class 4A state title run. He has a huge frame and prototypical size for a D1 PP-type quarterback, though he is mobile and dangerous as both a scrambler and runner. St. Thomas has a rich history of adding Orono standouts, and it’s hard not to think the Pioneer League and even the Ivy League would be a good fit for Dyvik if he can make the money work. However, given the tools, athletic background, and some of the throws I’m seeing on his senior tape, it’s hard not to think he has D1 scholarship potential with Missouri Valley or G5 schools as a ceiling, depending on the in-person evaluation and scholarship slots. It’s late in the recruitment process for 2027s, but QB is the most important position in sports, so it’s not impossible to generate new recruiting traction midway through your senior season or beyond. What a great recruiting riser and story out of Minnesota’s 2026 season.
