The massive, long, and overpowering Big Lake High School OT Evan Blackman showed up and showed out at the PRZMN Spring Showcase. Coming in at a verified 6’6, 269 lbs, Blackman kicked things off with a 7’6 broad jump, and the size + athleticism combination was simply too much for rushers to handle on Saturday morning in Plymouth. Blackman could handle speed rushers attacking his outside shoulder, was laterally agile and light on his feet, and could halt defenders in their tracks once he got those long arms and near-10″ hands on a rusher. Scholarship potential oozing all over him. Keep an eye out for this OT during the Summer Camp SZN.

The honors of being the tallest prospect in attendance on Saturday went to Big Lake’s

. Currently holding an NSIC offer from the University of Sioux Falls, Blackman posted an impressive 5.05 shuttle drill and a solid 7’6″ broad jump. He may have started the camp a little slower, but as the reps piled up, it became clear that Blackman was one of the top prospects in attendance. Once he locked into a groove, his footwork and hand placement leveled up and became top-notch. He’s got very long arms and can keep nearly every defensive lineman at bay when needed. Possessing great physicality and a solid first punch, I don’t think it’s long before we see more schools clamoring for Blackman’s talents.

finishes as one of my top-tier offenisve linemen at camp. The 6’6 250 pounder boosted some of the most physically engaged hands in the OL group and especially was top in this category for the upperclassmen in attendance. Evan used his long arms to his advantage and got great extension during pass-pro reps. Another thing I have found, the last few non-padded camps I have been at where an OL prospect gets their shirt ripped up, that usually has been an MVP or a top-tier prospect at that camp, which is case with Evan in the OL group last Saturday. Evan is one that needs his first offer, probably yesterday in my eyes.

By and large, this is the wide open OL race and class we’ve seen at our time with PRZ/NFN. Behind Lakeville South’s

, there is a ton of contenders for those remaining D1 scholarship spots that generally come out of Minnesota, though none of them are really verified or fully vetted by PRZMN as of yet. However, there are some fun top contenders, many of which made big debuts in the latest 2027 Rankings Update and a few we will cover in this feature here. One of the biggest potential stock risers and names in the conversation comes out of Big Lake, who have been putting out some lowkey exceptional prospects over the past few cycles despite that area being ripe poaching. The 2027 class for the Hornets have a monster on the OL in reported 6’6, 250 lber.

, a beast in the weight room with a 315 lb. bench, 225 lb. power clean, and 500 lb. squat that is only going up during this current offseason.
Blackman has good reps from both sides of the LOS. As a DL, he flashes a good get-off and flies into the backfield like a much smaller defensive lineman and is easily able to shed blocks and not get tangled up around the box from his DL position, in large part thanks to his get-off and length. As Big Lake’s LT, the reported 6’6er is smoothly able to reach DEs and OLBs from his LT spot and set the edge for his offense, and he demonstrates a strong base in pass protection and can easily handle power rushes from DL and LBs in the MN 4A ranks. Blackman crushes LBs when climbing to the second level, is a physical finisher and dominant run blocker, and displays fluid mobility and versatile as a blocker from an OT position. Huge name to watch this offseason out of Big Lake!

may see himself play at either DE or OT at the next level, and while he certainly could still build some bulk to match his frame, Blackman has the potential to be a major problem on the trenches. His athleticism is undeniable, posting impressive testing numbers for his size, including a 315 lb max bench, a 500 lb max squat, and a 5.1 40 yard dash time. Playing at Left Tackle, Blackman shows solid hand placement, does a good job hitting moving targets at the second level, and is able to physically overwhelm defenders with his size. Blackman could certainly work on getting lower with his stance, though with some work on his fundamentals this offseason, Blackman holds major high-upside value that with the right fit can excel at the next level.
