The Goodhue Wildcats – while taking on the machine that was the Jackson County Central Huskies in 2025 – put together one of the most fantastic state championship performances PRZMN will ever see. This scratching, swinging, bar fight of a Class AA thunderdome was led, on both sides of the ball I must add, by Goodhue’s Ethan O’Reilly Ethan O’Reilly 6'2" | 230 lbs | DL Goodhue | 2027 State MN , who personally put on a performance for the ages. Playing on both sides of the ball, O’Reilly was a behemoth of a presence in the ball game, and you can imagine that PRZMN was stoked to see O’Reilly’s name on the PRZMN Spring Showcase roster. The young man lived up to the hype, with huge hands and a frame that could add significant weight in the coming years, and his combination of power and quickness, hand usage, and physicality had OL on their heels all afternoon long. Very interested to see how O’Reilly’s Summer Camp SZN develops here soon.

O’Reilly was one of the most productive defensive linemen in the state last season, bringing down 96 total tackles, 10 TFLs, 2.0 sacks, and 3 FF. He’s a certified standout across the board and makes an impact anywhere he’s put in any sport he plays. On his tape, O’Reilly proves to be relentless in his pursuit of the ball carrier. I love how low he plays, and you see how well he uses leverage to his advantage against offensive linemen. He’s powerful enough to bull rush linemen straight into the QB, but also quick and explosive enough to rip through and handfight. He’s incredibly physical when he attacks ball carriers, and either lights them up or attempts to force a fumble when given the opportunity. I’d love to see him at a camp during the offseason and evaluate him against other comp. I look forward to an extremely productive senior season from O’Reilly.

Goodhue junior Ethan O’Reilly Ethan O’Reilly 6'2" | 230 lbs | DL Goodhue | 2027 State MN is a 6’2, 235-pound lineman who’s already a three-year starter. He is one of only two players to start as a ninth grader at Goodhue in the past 29 years. O’Reilly has anchored both sides of the trenches since day one. He’s Goodhue’s top offensive and defensive lineman, able to play guard or tackle on offense and dominate as a defensive end. On offense he’s a complete technician: he can hook on the edge, drive block with power, pull and climb to linebackers, and lead the way on screens. Defensively, O’Reilly is relentless. He wins with leverage, hand use, and motor. He delivers game-changing plays, like blowing up a rocket toss for a forced fumble and scoop-and-score last week. His wrestling background shows in his balance and ability to stay low and control blockers, while his football IQ helps him to react and disrupt plays. Athletically, O’Reilly moves like a smaller player. A 3.9 student with toughness and leadership, he brings the complete package that schools look for.
