The Pierce Bluejays have a throwback thumper on their defense with returning senior linebacker Ethan Nordby Ethan Nordby 6'2" | 215 lbs | LB Pierce | 2027 State NE . Ethan had a solid junior year in which he tallied 25 tackles, three TFLs, two sacks, two fumble recoveries, and a forced fumble. Ethan fits the mold of a next-level linebacker with great size at 6’2″ and 215 pounds, along with a fiery mean streak that he brings coming off the edge. He has a quick first step and is able to generate enough momentum to help him barrel through blockers with a strong bull rush. Nordby also showed off his run-defense skills by anchoring down and holding the edge to shut down outside run lanes. Once he’s disengaged from blockers, Ethan flashes good burst and lateral quickness that helps him pressure the QB or track down ball carriers. Effective when dropping back into coverage. We could also see Ethan take on a bigger role on offense, where he carried the ball 17 times for 146 yards and three touchdowns. With his size and strength, I can see Ethan being used as a “change of pace” back who can wear defenses down or come in to help block. Big time breakout candidate in Class C1!
