Recently securing his first Power-4 offer from Syracuse, Ethan has good height with elite size and frame with very good arm length at 81 1/2 inches. This past season saw Ethan playing with more explosiveness and aggressiveness in his play becoming an enforcer on the offensive line. Displays good athleticism, with very good explosiveness, hand quickness, good foot quickness, acceleration, balance, lateral movement, flexibility, and solid change of direction. Good pass protector, showing good set points and use of hands to punch and disrupt the defender’s pass rush plan. Can quickly anchor himself and hold his ground versus the bull rush and remain balanced. Very good in Gap blocking, coming off the ball with very good explosiveness and engaging with very good hand placement, with good sustain and leg drive on the blocks. Operates best in Base and Down blocks where he can quickly engage and drive defenders out of the gap. Good lateral movement on Pull blocks and Zone blocking schemes, allowing him to block in space where he will overpower anyone he faces on the second and third levels. Would like to see him continue to develop consistent block fits in Pull and Zones as he can win now with his size and strength, but will need to hone that technique for the next level. Overall, a good prospect with very good upside who has the size you cannot teach with good athleticism to play Division 1 football. Made visible improvements in his game this year, playing with better flexibility, explosiveness, and aggressiveness.

who would probably be top 5 ranked in many surrounding states if were being honest. Holding offers already from Eastern Kentucky and UVA Wise, Lawson comes at quickly on the Eagles offensive line. My colleague Cole Laing has a good breakdown on him right here:

No matter how you slice it, for an athlete heading into their eighth-grade year and already standing 6-foot-5 and 315-pounds, it’s impressive. Add in the fact that he has an 80-inch wingspan (the height of Michael Jordan) and you have a prospect that’s going to get significant looks from colleges, based on potential alone. The interest has already started with Eastern Kentucky becoming the first school to extend an offer back in May. At the youth/middle school level size plays more of a factor than at any other level, and he obviously dominates the competition right now. In my limited views of watching him play, I think Lawson has a high ceiling but quickness and overall lateral movement must improve. Currently I’d play him inside to cover up some of those issues. With that said, he has all the potential in the world to be a Right Tackle in the future.
