Wedge Rising: Star QB Continues to Impress
This season, Wedge threw for 1,992 yards and an eye-popping 27 touchdowns, solidifying his reputation as one of the top quarterbacks in his class. Already familiar to the Prep Redzone spotlight, Wedge is currently ranked the No. 7 quarterback in his class and recently picked up his first Division I offer from Delaware State in April.
On film, Wedge displays impressive poise in the pocket, showing patience, stepping up under pressure, and consistently delivering accurate throws. He’s also a threat on the move, extending plays with his legs while keeping his eyes locked downfield. One of his most impressive throws came on a perfectly placed back-shoulder ball, threading it just past the defender with elite touch and timing.
Wedge is a name to watch as he continues to rise through the ranks.

Eric is a player I am excited to see more of this season. He was recently ranked the #4 QB in the 2026 class and he is set to have a huge Jr. season with his skill set along with the weapons he has around him at Wise.
After going 12-0 as a starter last season and leading the Puma’s to a state title, Eric looks to continue to build off of that success. He had just under 1,000 yds passing with 15 TDs and 0 interceptions on the year. I expect those numbers to improve a solid amount as Eric leads an explosive Wise offense with new weapons coming this season. Wedge throws a pretty ball, is able to layer it over LBs and between the Safeties with nice touch and accuracy. Capable of working across all 3 levels in the passing game. A nice size QB, at 6’2″, Eric stands tall in the pocket and can step up and push the ball downfield. A good athlete and basketball player as well, he is able to escape the pocket to extend the play as well as gain yards on QB designed runs. Eric shows a high football IQ at the QB position, making correct reads quickly and showing good understanding of the offense. Only thing I’d like to see him work on is continuing to strengthen his arm and getting more zip/velocity on his passes.
Coach Rapp is known to be a top QB developer sending multiple QBs to the next level at the Power 4 and FBS/FCS schools. I expect Eric to continue to develop nicely over the next 2 years and be the next QB from Wise to make that jump to the FCS+ level.

Wedge is the top ranked public school QB, returning as a defending champ this season expect him to build on his 2023 stats and strong performance. He hoisted the State trophy with 930 passing yards 11 passing touchdowns and 0 interceptions. Now a varsity veteran with two of his top receivers returning in Nelson and Murphy, look for Wedge to reach over 1,000 yards this season.

6’2, 185 pounds. 3.5 GPA.
Not too active on Twitter, knowing if he’s been camping and working this offseason would be good to know, especially for the colleges who might have him on their boards. Two separate Twitters. What’s more important is his sophomore tape. 12-0 as a sophomore starter, a young man who led Wise HS to a 4A State Title. All of this packaged into one tape infinitely outweighs what he might have going on in the offseason.
Didn’t account for a single interception all year. Tape starts off with Wedge under center in an I-formation set, coaches at the next level will certainly be intrigued with a quarterback who is accustomed to working a drop and play action sets. Mesh handoffs are witnessed with Wedge tucking/pulling the football for himself, kid is an athlete. Tape goes back and forth between spread and tight looks, this again bodes well for his future. Having experience in various sets (21,10 personnel) will help his stock among potential suitors. Sees the middle of the field well when tasked with sitting in the pocket and throwing the football. Hits digs, posts, and seams well off a hitch. Unsure if colleges will view Wedge as an ATH or a QB, as his tape isn’t exactly littered with next-level throws. A college working similar sets as Wise HS might entice recruiters to bring in Wedge for his experience and playmaking skills. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear it.

The sophomore QB showed that he can be The guy under center for Wise and continue to reach their Championship standard. Wedge threw for just shy of 1,000 yards with 930 yards, and 15 passing touchdowns. On the ground he had 16 rushes for 3 touchdowns giving him 18 total touchdowns on the season. One stat that really sticks out to me is 0 interceptions on the season, which plays a big part in offensive success for any team. Already at 6’2, size won’t be a concern during his recruitment or evaluation; in the pocket he gets the ball out quick and has a consistent rhythm. His timing and accuracy allow his receivers to have the space to make those big plays after the catch.
