Special teams could become a real strength for Musselman with 2028 K Eric Hugas handling the kicking duties. Hugas has quickly emerged as one of the more intriguing specialist prospects in the state, and gives the Applemen an advantage in the field position battle. If he continues to refine his game, Hugas has the potential to develop into one of West Virginia’s top specialists over the next two seasons.

2028 Musselman K Eric Hugas is a new addition to our radar this offseason and one of the more intriguing specialist prospects in the class. Hugas checks in at 6’1 205, and already possesses the type of build that translates well to the kicking position. His leg strength was evident on film, particularly on kickoffs, where he was able to drive the ball into the end zone for touchbacks as a sophomore. That ability alone separates him from many high school specialists and gives him a high ceiling moving forward. While we weren’t able to evaluate his field goal and PAT work, the power he generates off his leg suggests there could be significant range in his game as he continues to develop. If accuracy on FG/PAT matches his leg strength, Hugas has a chance to become one of the top specialist prospects in West Virginia over the next two seasons.
