Emmanuel makes his rankings debut as the #78 overall player and the #8 overall edge player in a very strong edge class. A thick built player who has a relentless motor. Emmanuel gets after it every play and bring a nice combo of speed/power. He showcases an array of rush moves. Wining with a club/swipe move, in & out dip, and able to get skinny slipping blocks. Emmanuel finds his way to the ball anywhere on the field. As he continues to fill out and get stronger he will become an ever bigger force from the edge for Concordia. Emmanuel will be a name opponents know after this season I look forward to watching him live this fall.
I thought we got some numbers and names mixed up when I watched Emmanuel Butler test. But, after double checking, I can confirm Emmanuel Butler is a 6’2 freak pass rusher that’s still got 3 years left of high school football in him. He tested amongst the best athletes in camp and he’s every bit of 6’2 201. I always feel like these events are catered towards skill positions. It’s easy to get caught up in the receiver/db 1 on 1s, it’s easy to watch quarterbacks take 3 step drops and throw the ball around the yard. It’s aesthetic, it’s where everyone defaults. But Emmanuel Butler might have been a top 5 most impressive athlete at the event, and we didn’t even get to see him put in situations to maximize that athleticism. Look out. This is a guy I’ll be closely following.

. Butler was the best edge/defensive end prospect in attendance. Still just in his sophomore season, Butler had great size and solid technique to match. Coming off the edge he showcased a great deal of speed and hand usage. Knowing how to leverage his physical assets, Butler utilizes the long arm exceptionally well, complimenting it with his speed. However, when Bulter combines these two traits, he is deadly. Getting burn at the 3-tech, Butler used the long arm to finish off his speed-to-power rush.
