He’s a versatile defender who can play inside or outside, with the ability to set the edge or hold up the interior against the run. He’s a blossoming pass-rusher with the potential to continue improving in that department as he gains experience.

Imes plays some on the edge, but he’s best as an interior defender who can stuff the run and provide occasional pass rush. He’s a high-motor player who did most of his damage as a pass rusher on his second or even third move. Even as a defensive lineman, he never takes plays off, and he frequently makes tackles far from his original alignment.
