Eli Neuhouser
About Eli
Expert Analysis
Sam Erman | Prep Redzone Scout
Neuhouser is an incredibly productive LB for Carroll, who took over the lead for the defense last year and never looked back. He’s got good instincts and can see things develop before they happen. He takes good angles and knows how to come to balance and attack the outside hip. Simple things add up, and Neuhouser is well-coached. He’s got good length and can reach across gaps and make 1-arm tackles. He’s a good coverage linebacker and thrives in zone when he can watch the QB’s eyes. His 142 total tackles, 3 TFLs, 1 sack, 2 interceptions, 2 PBUs, and 1 fumble recovery led the way for the team and helped give the stability in the middle.

Neuhouser was dominant on Friday and had arguably his best game to date. He was in the trenches and made tackle after tackle. He’s got a good head on his shoulders and knows how to read the field. I liked his ability to get off blocks and use his strength to wrap up in the open field. He led the game with 12 tackles, had 1 sack, 1 interception, and recovered a fumble.

Neuhouser has been one of the most productive linebackers in the state through the first 2 weeks. He’s confident in what he sees, has a good frame, and the strength to make things happen. Carroll may have fell short on Friday, but Neuhouser’s 15 tackles led the way. He has 25 solo tackles through 2 weeks.

Neuhouser was fantastic this past season for Carroll and not only had a breakout season, but proved to be a steady piece in the middle for them. With good range and elite length, he quickly covers a ton of yardage. He’s tough, willing to stick his nose in the trenches, and makes tackle after tackle. His 94 tackles, 4.5 TFLs, 1 sack, 1 pass deflected, and 3 fumble recoveries were a great season, but it’s safe to say I feel like he’s got more in the tank. We’ll see more in year 2.

Neuhouser is fun to watch because his length and size give him leverage every down, but then he’s an explosive player off the line who can attack, rush, and find new ways to create pressure. He had a massive campaign this year breakout out for Carroll putting up 94 tackles, a sack, 2 forced fumbles, and a pass deflected. As raw as he is, he’s still productive and has a plethora of confidence.
