As you can see by the ranking, Eli has spent his career making an impact on both sides of the ball for Mt. Horeb. This year should be his best year yet as he looks to step into the RB1 and LB1 role for the offense and defense. I have no doubt that the 2027 athlete will be up to the challenge. The 5’11” 185 lbs athlete is coming off a State qualifying wrestling season and what helped him dominated on the map shows up on tape too. Eli is so strong for his size with excellent balance and understanding of leverage to maximize his strength vs larger opponents. Plus the 2027 RB/LB has the speed to get to the edge and rip off the big chunk plays down the sideline. The soon to be senior also brings some explosive agility through traffic that also helps him stay clean in traffic at LB. Don’t miss out on this kid.

It has been fun watching Eli establish himself on the Mount Horeb varsity these past two seasons. Eli’s junior season has been his best so far, making plays at RB and LB. In total we saw him compile 95 Carries, 658 Yards, 11 TDs, 3 Receptions, 45 Yards, 103 Tackles, 16 TFLs, and 4.5 Sacks.
Eli would wrestle at 175 lbs this year and pile up a very impressive 53-5 overall record. His season would conclude in the State Finals where he would go home as the State Runner up at the D2 level.
Watching him play you see the physicality, the leverage, the power he can create with that leverage and ability to play fast with a low pad level. It has made him a tone setting athlete on both sides of the ball and a kid to watch over this next year.

We definitely got the junior LB’s best effort Friday night. The ’27 was extremely disruptive in the backfield. He showed a fantastic burst at the snap to accelerate through the line or around the edge. Eli does everything at 100 mph and violently. His power is key to that violence as he is able to quickly shed blockers and deliver big hits when he tackles. The 2027 LB has excellent range for the position, chasing down plays or blitzing effectively or rushing around the edge and still getting home in time. Don’t sleep on the rising 2027 LB.

You better strap up, wrap up, and hope your teammates swarm in time when you try to bring down Eli. The two way stud for Mount Horeb has put together a great season at RB and LB. I want to focus on the way this kid runs the rock this week. Eli does a great job reading the line in front of him and hits the hole like a runaway freight train. That combination of power, contact balance, and speed proved to be too much for defenders to try and corral in the open field leading to several chunk plays for the junior. The junior RB is doing a great job of helping keep the MH/B offense balanced. Check out his two-way tape from Level 1.
