O’Brien is one of the top safety prospects across Idaho and is a very high IQ kid that is always around the ball making plays and causing turnovers from the third level. He is a smooth athlete with tremendous anticipation, fluid cover abilities and brings a nice thump at contact when dropping down into the box or into the flats. He had another big week on Friday night posting 100+ yards receiving and 2 TD’s on only 5 receptions and defensively had a big night tallying 7 tackles, 1 FF and 3 PBU’s in a nice 34-20 win over McCall.

The Nampa Christian defensive back is one of the top ball-hawks across the region and is a highly instinctual player that breaks quickly at the POA and has return abilities and good downfield/closing speed. He shows he can play physical near the LOS in press coverage, has recovery speed if beat over the top and flashes he can come up on the edge and make tackles at or behind the line. He currently holds offers from Puget Sound and Macalester and should see a slew of others come in through the season.

The Nampa Christian product is a highly instinctual and twitchy defensive back that shows tremendous ball skills, breaks quickly to the ball in the air and is a very good tackler out on the edge. He shows he can come up in run support and make plays near the LOS and plays with good physicality and toughness. In coverage, he has fluid hips in transition, recovery speed if beat over the middle and shows plus COD abilities as well in man coverage. Overall, he is a very technically sound player that can play either safety or corner in college and should draw plenty of D3+ interest.
