What separates Eaton from being just a power back is his lateral agility, he shows the ability to make defenders miss in one-on-one situations in the open field, creating extra yards when plays appear bottled up. Eaton’s combination of physicality and movement skills makes him a tough matchup for defenders and a back who can wear down a defense over the course of a game.

Dylan is a RB prospect who I am high on as you can see by his #6 RB ranking for his class. Saw a lot of him last season and expect him to continue his trajectory and really show out this fall. He had just shy of 800 rushing yds and 8 TDs while missing some time. I can see Dylan having a big work load this year and getting over the 1,000 yd rushing mark.

A good mix of size speed and power, Dylan runs downhill behind his pads and gets to the end zone. He runs with good balance and runs through arm tackles. Dylan possess some good wiggle and burst as well. Able to make sharp cuts and dodge tacklers before getting back getting up field. Effective as a receiver out the backfield as well and in the screen game add another level of his ability to hurt defenses. Look for Dylan to take on a big work load for Franklin this year and start to garner plenty of college attention.

At 6-foot, 205 pounds, Eaton has the ideal frame for a downhill runner, and he uses every bit of it. With excellent contact balance and a low pad level, he consistently breaks through arm tackles and churns out extra yards after contact.

A true one-cut-and-go runner, Eaton wastes no time getting upfield. He reads his blocks with patience, plants his foot, and accelerates with power. In the open field, he’s a tough assignment for defenders, combining strength, balance, and just enough wiggle to make would-be tacklers miss.

Eaton was named Franklin’s team MVP for the 2024 season, a testament to his consistency and impact. With his size, physicality, and no-nonsense running style, he’s the kind of back that wears down defenses and controls the tempo of a game.

What I’m looking to see from him this season:

At 5-11, 210 pounds, Eaton displayed a nice blend of power and good speed in his game last season. His acceleration through the hole is impressive as he routinely explodes through the gaps. Eaton is a physical runner who pushes through defenders and routinely breaks tackles. He’s a solid downhill runner, and he does a lot of work between the tackles. I’d like to see if Eaton’s speed has improved (does he have more of a second gear this season?) and if he has the juice to bounce runs to the outside and turn the corner on defenders. It may not be a part of his team’s offensive scheme, but I’d also like to see a few more plays of him as a pass-catcher.
