continues to excel for Hempfield area this season. In the big win over Canon-McMillan he threw for 350 yards and 4 touchdowns. Detruf is a smooth operator in the pocket. He has excellent mechanics and footwork and never seems to get flustered in the pocket. He is having a strong season for Hempfield. His ability to pick a part defenses in the pocket is excellent as he looks like a machine. Detruf is a talented quarterback in the 2026 class.

. He’s the type of prospect who checks a lot of the boxes college coaches want to see: size, arm talent, and an underrated ability to extend plays with his legs. His tape from the first few weeks of the season shows flashes of a quarterback who can make all the throws and command an offense, yet he remains one of the more slept-on commodities in the WPIAL right now.

is a good quarterback in the 2026 class. He has excellent mechanics and footwork in the pocket. I especially like the touch he puts on the ball. He knows how to throw the ball with the perfect amount of air. You see this with his deep ball. He also does a good job of reading the defense and then throwing an excellent ball in the perfect position to his receivers. He has limited reps running the ball, but on one play, he showed his wheels on a quarterback called run, and he raced to the end zone. Detruf is a good player in the 2026 class who recently picked up an offer from Baldwin Wallace University.

Sophomore tape extends just over five minutes long. Tape showcases just four starts, however. Averaged just over 250ypg throughout that stretch, impressive. First thing that stands out on tape is his confidence. Detruf has no problem giving his man a shot downfield, many of these vertical shots hit their target or turf, considering he only threw one interception on the year. Operates out of a wide system, gun, Detruf can deliver a 40 air-yard ball from the pocket to truly test a secondary deep. Boasts a high release, almost looks like he releases the football behind his helmet at times. Won’t terrorize a defense with his legs, but is seen tucking and running for first downs, as well as being a factor inside the five. Slightly above-average athlete, plays basketball too. A lot of upper-body torque to generate his power, not too much lower-body churn. Great grades, heard good things about the young man. Likely a Top 30 QB if he has a full year of production.
