If you are looking for a gritty, hard nosed player that does a number of things well and you can rely on, Dominic Canzano Dominic Canzano 6'3" | 215 lbs | DL Cherry Hill West | 2026 State NJ might be your guy. Canzano absolutely hugs the line of scrimmage so that only a credit card can pass by. This allows him gain a great get off. From there, we see that Canzano is able to swim or rip inside to get free. With a workman-like feet, Canzano is constantly moving and fighting in order to spring loose. He slants across his opponent’s face really well, often untouched, allowing him to follow pulling guards at times. Basic gap discipline is something else we see him do well, as Canzano will work to separate and get his head into his gap while playing half-man leverage, only to rip across the face to make a stop in the gap adjacent to him. Lastly, Canzano has the strength to turn a weak shoulder when lined up inside and is a very good gap penetrator.

The more and more I see of the Cherry Hill area football, the more I am impressed. West’s Dominic Canzano Dominic Canzano 6'3" | 215 lbs | DL Cherry Hill West | 2026 State NJ is another very good defensive linemen in a deep class of them. Canzano has a good get off and hugs the line in order to gain that advantage. Both rip and swim moves are available to him. As he keeps his feet moving, Canzano keeps working and is able to cross face on plays away. Often getting through unblocked, he makes plays in the backfield by getting in the hip pocket of pulling guards when he is at his best. Playing straight gap responsibility, he can separate, get his head into his gap, and then make plays into the adjacent gap. Hustling and pursuing plays, Canzano is a great gap-penetrating interior lineman.

Canzano, who is yet another rising freshman, is another edge lineman who impressed – especially amongst the high-end caliber of talent that was on hand. Canzano had freakishly long arms and worked to use them. At times he created space and separation from his opponent by extending his arms. Perhaps the best out of the entire roster of prospects, from what I saw Canzano had tremendous bend. This allowed him to get lower than most and compete with outstanding leverage as he exploded up-and-out from his stance.

There are two boxes that Canzano checked for me while at the Jersey Juice. The first is the eye test. Canzano has great size, build, and the frame for an edge player. Additionally, from what I saw he had fluid hips. These hips came in handy during one-on-one drills, as Canzano was able to win the corner consistently with a club-and-flip or swipe-and-flip. I have yet to watch Canzano on film, but after seeing him in person he may have the athleticism and twitchiness to play on either the first or second levels of the defense.
