Expert Analysis
Matt Tate | Prep Redzone Scout
Baker is a great two-way player. The 5’11 200-pound RB/MLB had 172 carries for 1080 yards with 14 touchdowns, 56 total tackles (25 solo, 31 assisted), and 10 TFL. He has very good athletic ability due to elite balance, very good acceleration, speed, and good change of direction. Baker has an explosive quick start and very good vision. One thing about him is his patience. He lets the OL create a hole, and he rushes through it. Very good inside and outside running. Baker will turn the perimeter and use his home run speed to reach the endzone. Baker consistently gains yards after contact due to his balance. He bounces off defenders or trucks through them with ease. Powerful stiff arm and a good juke move. As a linebacker, he has very good read and reaction speed. Baker uses his very good strength to tackle the ball carrier easily. He’s great at stuffing gaps. I believe Baker can contribute at the next level.

He measures in at 5’11 190 pounds, and accounted for 855 yards on 134 carries with 10 touchdowns. 7 receptions for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns. He has very good athletic ability due to elite balance, very good acceleration, speed, and good change of direction. Baker has very good vision and is patient with finding routes through the defense. Very good inside and outside runner. Hits the perimeter and uses his home run speed. This downhill back consistently gains yards after contact, dragging defenders with him or bouncing off tacklers. Good stiff arm and juke move too. Baker also had fluid catching out of the backfield and good hands. This kid can produce, and colleges should take an extra look at him.

Baker is an under-the-radar player who is a difference-maker on both sides of the ball. He is a downhill runner who powers through contact, forcing defenders to gang-tackle him in order to bring him down. He has good athleticism, instinct, and vision as a ball carrier and initiates contact on offense and defense. Baker is an underrated player with legitimate potential to be a breakout recruit next fall.
