Craig and the Bulldogs found themselves in a tight game against Eastern Hancock, but Craig was able to do just enough to help them pull through. The running game was not working or really available for Lapel, so it was all up to Craig. He threw the ball 56 times on the night. He completed 30 of those passes for 300 yards and 4 TDs. It’s not often that you have to rely on your QB as much as Lapel did on Friday, but Craig came through. He’s never been one to get rattled, and when the noise is the loudest, he seems to be at his best.

The quarterback connected with Liam Ko for a touchdown which sealed the game with 10 seconds left. Craig flashes very good touch on the deep ball. He is very mobile, eluding rushers and being able to throw on the move. Boosted by his quick release, he has led the Bulldogs to a 5-0 record.

Craig is incredibly efficient and accurate, which was true again on Friday. He went 15 of 20 for 200 yards and 4 TDs and then added 40 yards and another score on the ground. Lapel won easily 49-2.

With his mobility, poise under duress, feel for pressure and arm, he is great at throwing outside the pocket and very mobile to elude rushers and buy time with his feet. He has a quick trigger and keeps his feet in position to throw. In 2024, he compiled 3,231 yards passing – leading all underclassmen – and added 30 passing touchdowns.

Craig has improved each year he’s stepped on the field for Lapel and what we saw last Friday may have been a glimpse of things to come. He came out on fire and never lost the heat. He threw guys open all night long and was 1 step ahead of the defense. He ended the night going 15 of 21 for 347 yards and 4 TDs as they cruised to an easy victory.
