Seemingly, every time something positive happened for 8A power Hoggard, Durand was in the middle of it. His ball skills are among the best in the state, and he’s at his best when he’s asked to get behind the defense and make the play. That being said, he also flashed more ability after the catch this season, and with a bit more weight, that’s a part of his game that we think he could continue to improve.

Almost every time we’ve mentioned undefeated Hoggard this year, Durand has been at the center of it. The shifty route-runner has impressive hands and body control, able to catch the ball in traffic. He hasn’t been as explosive as a junior, but he’s been more reliable, catching balls at all fields and running a full route tree. Coaches are often late when recruiting playmakers on the coast, so expect him to blow up on the recruiting trail soon.
