Another prospect who I already liked a good bit headed into the year, I thought Detances was great again for JFK – their backfield has a couple of other Juniors of note, but Betances is still one of the top returning backs in the PSAL.
An undersized prospect, I really like his twitch and change of direction. Really like how direct he is as a runner on tape – Betances finds space and attacks it. JFK runs a lot of Wing-T stuff, so you see him aligned a couple of different ways, and he does a good job of getting north, even on sweep plays.
Really solid athlete. The tape is a tad one-dimensional with the scheme but I think he would do well as a pass catcher based on his athletic traits on tape.
