About Deon

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

When I play DB, I like switching between man and zone. In man, I’m all over my guy, sticking with them, trying to read their moves and make sure they don’t get open. But in zone, I’m more about watching the QB and my area, ready to jump on any receiver who comes into my zone. I like keeping the offense guessing. It’s fun ‘cause you get to mix it up and make big plays in different ways.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Yeah, “me vs me” is all about pushing myself to get better, no one else matters. It’s like, I just focus on beating my own best, whether it’s my speed, skills, or mentality. I try to be better than I was yesterday. I don’t really worry about anyone else, it’s all about me improving. I usually try to get a little better every day, even if it’s just working on something small. Sometimes I’ll watch

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’d say I’ve really worked on leadership and teamwork. Like, I’ve learned it’s not just about me playing well, but making sure the whole team’s on the same page and we’re all working together. I’ve had to step up and lead sometimes, whether it’s motivating teammates or helping them when they’re struggling. For community service, I try to do what I can, like volunteering or just being a good exampl

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yeah, trying to be great for my family is definitely a challenge. It’s not just about doing well for me, but I want to make them proud, especially since they’ve done so much for me. Sometimes it feels like I can't mess up, which is a lot of pressure. I always want to show them that their hard work is paying off, but that means I’m always trying to be better, like, nonstop.

What type of college are you looking for?

If I were thinking about college, I’d want a place that’s got both good sports and good academics. A football program that’s serious but still a school where I can learn a lot and not just focus on sports. I want a place that feels like a team, you know? Where everyone’s pushing each other to get better, but also where I can grow off the field too.
