Currently ranked as a Running Back, Demetrius is a large-framed, power back out of Essex. Thick legs and build, and he has very good run strength and balance. He has good speed that gets him through the second level, but he lacks the top-end elite breakaway speed. What he lacks in top-end speed is made up for in his physicality and ability to make multiple defenders miss with his strength and size. He also plays Edge, and I would not be surprised if Edge becomes his primary position for us in the future.

Essex running back Demetrius Stewart Demetrius Stewart Demetrius Stewart 6'3" | 225 lbs | RB/LB Essex | 2028 State VA also received an offer from Virginia Tech this week, the Hokies are trying to make a push with this group it seems. Stewart had 14 rushing touchdowns and over 1,000 yards on the ground as a freshman. He is a big lumbering back with excellent vision, his ceiling is only going up from here. Stewart is 6’3 and 225 lbs. those are traits similar to a number of big time running backs at the next level and he still has three more seasons of high school football!
