Delonta is a very intriguing prospect. He’s one of the only players on these rankings who play all three phases at a high level. Offensively, I really like his short route running and RAC. Once Delonta receives the ball, his eyes turn up field, and he’s sometimes able to evade a few defenders before turning up the field. This translates very well to the return game. As a punt returner, Delonta opts to take the outside, where he does his best to run upfield without trying to make too many moves. Generally, I love Delonta’s upside as a gadget playmaker, but needs to develop as a route runner in order to earn playing time at the next level. The good news is that Delonta is already a phenomenal return man who could gain college experience early on Special Teams. He has a few great MIAA offers, and I’d expect him to end up at a great MIAA program or a lower-tier GLIAC program.
