About Dejon
Expert Analysis
Will Helms | Prep Redzone Scout
Douglas has gained a bunch of weight in the last few months, and that should work with his running style. He’s a patient, one-cut runner who has excellent burst out of his cuts. When he gets downhill, he has plenty of power to run through would-be tacklers and the speed to rip off huge runs.

De’Jon was a major piece of the Hawks’ success last season, rushing for over 1100 yards and averaging over 8 yards per carry. He also had 19 total touchdowns for the season, 17 of them rushing. Douglas has grown to 200 pounds, and he is decisive with his vision and cuts with the football in his hands. An All-Conference and All-State selection, Douglas is starting to get some recruiting attention with some invites to junior days coming his way.

Some incredible production here for Dejon – in 10 games, he rushed for 1107 rushing yards, an 8.1 yards per carry average! On top of that, Dejon earned All-Conference and All-State honors and provided some good balance for a strong Latin offense overall. I think Dejon does a number of things well – running hard at the 2nd and 3rd levels of the defense, catching the ball out of the backfield, and being able to carry a heavy workload are all things that really stand out for me. He’s a good candidate for this 704 Junior Bowl team.
