About DeCaleb

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would say I am good at stopping the run. When the ball is ran on the opposite side of where i’m at on the field, i’m good at chasing down tackles and/or making the ball carrier change directions for my teammates to make a play. My pass rush could use more work. My favorite rush to do is a speed rush, most of the time i’m playing against an offensive lineman who isn’t as fast.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a mentality to always win, when I line up against an offensive lineman I always want to beat him off the line. My personality my differs from a lot of people, I think i have great sportsmanship and help support my teammates at their weaknesses. I am a quiet player but I always have energy on game day.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I plan on playing 7v7 football next year to help me at OLB, as of right now i have no non-sports awards.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have leadership, I help my teammates push past their limits and always encourages them when they think they cannot do a drill or etc. Teamwork is key, if the whole team doesn’t work together that’s going to cause the team to have 4 win or less in the fall.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Not so much of a challenge but I think my weight might hold me down. I might have lack of size but I make up for that in power and speed.

What type of college are you looking for?

A college that will see potential in me but also help develop me in the long run.

Green is a very intriguing prospect for a number of reasons, chief amongst them being his size, as he is already 6-foot-4 and 170-pounds. Make no bones about it, Green is going to be a bit of a project through the ranks and physical development is going to be a big part of his future. He’s a member of the feeder program for Lutcher High School, which last won a state title in 2006. I have him listed as a Defensive Lineman right now and envision him as a long, lean Defensive End type in a 4-3 defensive scheme. With that said, over his last few games he has played some Outside Linebacker and is having success. When looking for a comparison in terms of ability and upside, I see a lot former LSU Tiger and first-round pick Barkevious Mingo. Mingo was a 6-foot-5, 235-pound Outside Linebacker/Edge Rusher that was that hybrid type. Right now, Green looks headed down that same path.
