was worth his weight in gold on Friday night. The Heritage transfer appears to have transitioned into the Grand Blanc defense nicely, and it showed throughout the game. His instincts were impressive, as he was able to diagnose plays early and shoot the gap before the play ever really got going. One play that stood out came when he met a receiver coming straight at him and was able to stop him dead in his tracks with a jarring hit. His physicality seemed to set the tone for his team all night. On top of being a force in the run game, Taylor held his own in pass coverage and showed off how rangy he can be on the back end. Taylor looked like the anchor of this Grand Blanc defense.

The Saginaw Heritage transfer had quite the opening week performance against Mona Shores.
Daylin had an excellent day defensively. 0:17 showcases excellent play recognition. Great job sidestepping the timid receiver and earning himself a TFL. 1:01 is another excellent tackle in space. I always knew Daylin is a great receiver, but I honestly didn’t expect him to perform so well at DB.
0:43 is the highlight of the week. A game-defining 93-yard kick return TD, exposing bad lane discipline for Mona Shores. Nothing like a quick, lethal kick return right up the middle.
Without Daylin, this game would have likely been much closer. Can’t wait to see how Daylin’s entire season plays out.

has put together a really solid offseason so far. I absolutely love what I saw out of him on film last season. He’s a super heads-up player who knows how to find the open space in the defense and work to give his quarterback a window. He’s an elite athlete who just ran a 4.6 40 time at the Prep Redzone Combine. Taylor has all of the ability in the world to have a huge breakout in 2025. His WR MVP honors at the PRZ Combine solidifies him as a top stock riser, especially in this 2026 class.

Our MVP!
Daylin was the only receiver who could do it all. He ran clean routes, had great testing numbers, and caught nearly everything thrown to him. That said, there were a lot of good slot receivers at camp, and Daylin was the best by a good margin.
