checks in as the highest-ranked newcomer to the rankings, landing at #15. The Duke’s towering tight end stands out immediately with his lengthy 6’7″ and 215-pound frame with a massive catch radius. Dax emerged as the leading receiver on a run-heavy offense, finishing the year with 15 catches for 253 yards and three touchdowns. When watching Dax’s tape, I was impressed with his inside-outside versatility. He fits best as an in-line tight end who can run-block and be an effective target over the middle of the field. Peterson can also be moved to the outside, where he can take advantage of size mismatches while also having the speed to slip past defenders and hit the home run ball. Great at winning contested catches and has some wheels for adding yardage after the catch. Willing blocker who uses good leverage and technique to generate a solid push at the LOS. Some colleges have already begun to take notice; it’ll only be a matter of time before some offers start to arrive.
