Someone who popped on my radar after last season was Mahtomedi’s powerful OT Dawson Duback. The big man is a super physical run-blocker who can displace defensive linemen with ease. He works to the second level quickly and does a good job of picking up blitzes. Trying to cross his face is a bad idea; he will more than likely end up pile-driving you into the dirt. I’d like to see Dubak play lower at times, but his nastiness when fighting in the trenches, combined with his impressive frame, means he’s a high-level prospect with a shining upside to play at the next level.

A longstanding known name, Big Body, mystery, and highly-intriguing lineman in the 2026 class, Mahtomedi’s Dawson Duback Dawson Duback 6'3" | 250 lbs | OL Mahtomedi | 2026 State MN continues to draw and keep the attention of PrepRedzoneMN. Hovering around 6’4-6’5, Duback is going into his third year as a varsity starter with the 5A Zephyrs, and despite multiple years of good film, Duback has yet to be seen by a PrepRedzoneMN scout. Sadly, we weren’t able to check Maht put in 2024 during the season, and Duback didn’t make a stop at any PrepRedzoneMN Showcases or college prospect camps that we attended this summer (which was a lot, shoutout Nate Wahl Nate Wahl 5'8" | 210 lbs | DL Big Lake | 2027 MN ), so we don’t have a lick of verified information on the young man. He doesn’t even have a Twitter, so I’m not sure if any college has contacted him or not.
Duback could be offensive center #1 in the class. At his aforementioned height, you have to like the lower body flexibility and ability to bend, not to mention the football IQ it takes to play the position. However, he possesses excellent overall positional versatility, showing reps at OC, LT, DT, and DE in his junior tape and many exciting traits at whatever position he lines up at. Off the jump, Duback possesses great lateral agility and is especially impressive when reaching DL. This isn’t an easy task, and Duback does it as smoothly and effectively as any OL in the class. He’s a good 1v1 run blocker who does a good job of attacking half a man and using his height and length, as well as leg drive, to turn and out-maneuver iDL and that aforementioned leg drive is also noticeable and strong. He has good reps of him putting large DEs on skates and out of the camera frame, and Duback also owns a strong initial punch that knocks defenders backward, solid strength, great balance, and can gain both width and depth off the snap when needed and is generally comfortable in pass pro. The 250 lber. is also a 3T DT and 5T DE who stuffs gaps and easily eats double teams, owns a good get-off for his size, and can beat OL with his first step, length, and quickness. I’m just itching to get some information or eyes on this kid. Hope to see you soon, Dawson!

One of the larger rising sophomores on this list of Top Newcomers, Mahtomedi’s Dawson Duback Dawson Duback 6'3" | 250 lbs | OL Mahtomedi | 2026 State MN already holds substantial size for a DT prospect at 6’2, 265 lbs. and 15 years old, and against non-varsity competition last fall he knew how to use it. Solid strength to handle doubles and hold his gap, a good get-off, and active and heavy hands are some of the big things that stand out from his 2022 season defensively, and Duback also plays OL, where he can work to the second level effectively and shove opponents around like they’re a little annoying cousin. As the biggest kid on tape from his freshman season, PRzMN is excited to see how he continues to grow and develop.
