One of the state’s top pass-rushers has made his college decision and will be playing next year in the SEC. Parson, one of the state’s most productive defenders last season as a junior, committed to the Ole Miss Rebels this weekend over schools like Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, among others. Ranked as the No. 3 EDGE defender in the 2027 class by Prep Redzone, the Atlanta-area pass-rusher was terrific during the 2026 season last year, recording 136 tackles for Union Grove with 28 TFLs and six sacks. Look for Parson to possibly push for early playing time for the Rebels down the road.
A lean, athletic linebacker with plenty of versatility, Parson is a hard-hitting defender out of McDonough at 6-foot-2 215-pounds who was one of the more productive defenders across the state last year in the 2027 class. This under-the-radar EDGE defender has easy Power Four potential and plenty of talent, proving it on a weekly basis last season. This fast-rising defender made 112 total tackles as a sophomore last season with 38 TFLs, 17 sacks and three forced fumbles. He’s a playmaking machine and should see his recruitment take off after this upcoming season. He’s ranked as the No. 4 EDGE defender and the No. 90 overall prospect in the state according to the latest rankings update.
Impressive frame. Versatile. Shows flashes of impressive bend coming off edge. Real impressive speed given his size. Tackles with good pad-level. Manhandles ball carriers. Real intriguing size/speed prospect with versatility and early HS production. He has started to emerge and holds P4 offers as a result. He has solidified himself as a premier LB prospects in Georgia, but I was on him early and continue to be impressed with him.
A smart, quick-reacting defender who can play both inside and outside linebacker, this Atlanta-area defender from McDonough was as productive as any sophomore defender last year, attacking and getting to the quarterback on a consistent basis all season long. The athletic 6-foot-2 215-pounder made an eye-opening 112 tackles, 38 TFLs and 17 sacks. He was tough to stop every week as he made multiple sacks in five different games, recording at least three sacks in four games. He’s a prospect on the rise who could see his recruitment pick up down the road.
Surprisingly Parson is still relatively unknown or talked about on the Statewide level. He put up monster stats last Fall with 112 tackles, 38 tackles for loss, and had 17 sacks as a Sophomore. He earned a spot on several All State teams with Sports Illustrated and Recruit Georgia naming him to their 1st Teams. A chiseled 6’2 215 with good length, Parson was one of the most explosive tacklers I watched on film this week. He shows outstanding lateral quickness and that “twitch” that allows him to weave his way through the LOS to make a play.
A tackling machine who lit up the stat sheet this season as a sophomore, this Atlanta-area defender is a versatile prospect who can line up on the edge or the middle of the field. He reacts quickly, explodes into the backfield, and knows how to deliver a physical hit on the ball-carrier. He’s one of the top young defenders in the McDonough area after an excellent 2024 season where he made 112 tackles, 38 TFLs and 17 sacks to go along with 27 more QB hurries and three forced fumbles. He’s currently ranked as the No. 2 EDGE defender and the No. 163 overall prospect in the state.
