Nansen led all freshmen in Southern California with 10 sacks and had 64 tackles, 18 for a loss and a forced fumble for Bellflower last season.

He’s one of the most explosive freshmen edge rushers I’ve seen in awhile and has a great first step. His short-area quickness is great and he’s often in the backfield before the quarterback even finishes his drop back. Nansen is really good at pursuing backside and frequently makes plays on run plays away from him. He has good length and the frame to add some size. Nansen has offers from Miami, Cal and Arizona State among others.

Nansen established himself as a top tier 2029 edge prospect with an outstanding freshman season totaling 64 tackles (42 solo), 18 tackles for loss, and 10 sacks. 6’3” 215 lbs. he possesses a projectable frame and high caliber physical traits. He’s a disruptive force at the first level gaining immediate penetration off the edge with an explosive get off to make a ton of plays at or behind the LOS as both a pass rusher and run stopper. Athleticism shows in his ability to run the arc and redirect to the ball with speed. Currently holds 4 D1 offers but is expected to be a double digit offer guy before long. Ranked just outside the top 20 overall and will continue to climb on this trajectory.  

Nansen is a still raw and developing prospect but has all the tools needed to be a P4 guy as a edge rusher by the time his prep career comes to a close and he should be fielding plenty of offers sooner rather than later. The Bellflower product is explosive off the ball with active hands and solid bend around the corner and has long strides to beat tackles to their set and use his length/strike well when setting the edge. He is a high motor kid that can pursue backside, defeat reach/drive blocks without losing ground and is smart against the run when reading blocks and spilling. Already a plus athlete with tremendous length and a long frame, he has tons of upside over the next three seasons and is just scratching the surface of his end potential.
