First identified by the one-and-only Jake Lemming, PRZ’s national scouting director and general manager, Jacksonville High School’s Dashawn Armstrong Dashawn Armstrong 5'8" | 140 lbs | ATH Jacksonville | 2026 IL clocks in at #39 overall and our 7th ranked athlete in the current 2026 PRzIL rankings. He’s one of a handful of RB hybrids I am very excited about going forward, and is yet another downstate Illinois product set to make big waves in the high school recruiting scene. Currently, he’s still classified as an athlete, primarily because of his defensive tape from 2022, and although he’s got the potential to be a two-way contributor through high school I could see RB turning into his primary position eventually. With varsity RB experience already under his belt from 2022, Armstrong shows off burst, a strong lower body, and some juice after the catch that can run through weaker tackle attempts and keep defenders off balance with his footwork. Defensively, Armstrong is a solid open field tackler and gets out of his breaks pretty well to impact both the run and pass game. If he can work on dropping his hips and staying lower in coverage he’s got the chance to be recruited at DB as well. His wrestling background reveals his toughness on the gridiron, and Armstrong is only just scratching the surface of his football prowess.
