. The kid is a touchdown waiting to happen every time he touches the ball. His ability to take it to the house anytime he touches the ball is impressive. He has a great feel for a running back as he knows how to hit the hole and gain good rushing lanes. Then, as a safety, he is the human vacuum cleaner as he cleans up everything that comes through and makes plays. He is an incredible tackler and ball hawk. You can easily see him being a great player in college. He needs to continue to play well to help Steel Valley win.

is a great athlete who continues to play at a high level for Steel Valley and has committed to play football at the University of Pittsburgh. He is a great athlete who can score anytime he touches the ball. He plays as a quarterback and is special at running with the ball. He rushed for over 1,000 yards last year as a quarterback. He is also a good defensive back, as he has good coverage skills and does a good job of breaking on the ball when it is thrown in his direction. Barksdale is an outstanding athlete who should has one year left to finish his high school career on a high note.

is a pretty fun player. Barksdale is a versatile and rangy DB, playing deep safety occasionally, boundary corner, and also in the slot. Barksdale is a feisty tackler, quick and fires like he shot out of a cannon. Barksdale loved ripping the football out. Every other play on his highlight reel consisted of a stripped ball it felt like. Barksdale has prototypical size and physicality to be an excellent Nickel DB at the next level. Barksdale holds multiple offers, the biggest of the bunch being West Virginia, Pitt, and Syracuse.

was all over the field Friday night for Steel Valley to defeat Western Beaver. He played as a quarterback and rushed for 170 yards and 2 touchdowns. He is a dynamic runner who is hard to bring down. On defense, he played well as a safety. Making several plays from his defensive back position. He even stopped a punt by tackling the punter. He also held for extra points. Barksdale is a killer on both sides of the ball, and he gets to play with a big brother, who is equally as talented.

is a dynamic athlete who could play a ton of positions on the field. He primarily played as a defensive back for Steel Valley last year. The 1st play in his film shows his playmaker ability. He stripped the ball carrier and then raced to the end zone for a touchdown. Barksdale plays like a linebacker from his defensive back position. He is a physical tough tackler. He also shows good ball skills by breaking on the ball and making pass breakups. On offense, he played as a wildcat quarterback on designed QB runs and he played as a running back. He flashed an athletic ability to make defenders miss and then has legit speed to run by defenders. Barksdale is one of the best athletes in the 2026 class and was recently offered by Bowling Green.

Daron is another FBS recruit who didn’t disappoint. His footwork and hip movement looked sharp all day yesterday. DaRon has man skills and looked great playing the Cover 2 safety during the 7-on-7 portion of the day. He has natural speed and quickness, which is also an asset in the return game. He’s very competitive and doesn’t shy away from bigger opponents. Barksdale already has offers from Pitt, WVU, Syracuse, and UNLV to name a few.

Barksdale also picked up his first FBS offer in his recruitment, also from UNLV. Our own Vic Castillo Vic Castillo RB PA said this about Barksdale last month…
“Testing numbers in camp settings are a huge indicator of whether or not a prospect is a real candidate for early interest in the form of offers. This is known. What’s not known is how well

performs in a combine setting. If you were to ask me, the young man has an incredible physique for his age, one that should serve him well in all areas outside of the 40. Predicting 40 times are always tricky, Barksdale will need to prove his speed in front of FBS coaches this summer. His tape and athleticism can’t be ignored, however.”

The freshman showed a lot of potential & toughness from the CB spot. He displayed good footwork pedaling & breaking. Da’Ron didn’t deliver any bone-crushing hits, but he showed toughness & consistency coming up to tackle. Not sure how DB plays press or off-man due to not seeing any clips in man coverage. Barksdale led Steel Valley with 9 tackles on the day.
