About Daren

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Field General... traditional hard nosed Mike Linebacker with a high football IQ.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Team first mentality (we not me). Leader on and off of the field who shows up every day, and goes above and beyond what is asked of me.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Team Captain with NJ Dark Knights 13U. Member of Rutgers Prep wrestling team and Honor student.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

In addition to leadership I have developed discipline and time management. Balancing school, practice, games and other commitments. Also a strong work ethic through teamwork and collaboration.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I broke my ankle in my league championship last year, one week prior to nationals in Florida. I didn't get to play in Florida but my family and were still in attendance to support my teammates. That, in addition to a long road of physical therapy and rehab upon my return, helped me to build resilience and the ability to persevere through challenges.

What type of college are you looking for?

Seeking an institution that will allow me to excel not only in sports but also in academics, career development and personal growth.

Perhaps the biggest stock-riser of all the Linebackers in attendance, Brown Jr. had an excellent showing. Up six pounds with increased muscle while appearing trimmed up, he’s a prime example of why showing up to PRZ Next Combines can be very beneficial. Not only did he show me, but he showed everyone there, what type of player he is.
