About Dante
Expert Analysis
Robert Davis | Prep Redzone Scout
Vigil is a backer that has good vision, being able to read and react quickly to come down and make a play near or behind the line of scrimmage. He has good instincts, playing free and making plays all over the field. He is a good open field tackler that is able to scrape over top and meet the ball carrier on the edge when they bounce it. He is a player that was able to turn some heads and should be on some programs radar.

Vigil was the Swiss army knife for Forge Christian this past season. His linebacking stands out to me, however he can make an impact on both sides of the ball. The 6’0 180-pound senior played OLB/RB/WR. His stats are as follows: 136 total tackles (59 solo, 77 assisted), 11 TFL, 5 sacks, 1 INT, 2 FF, 74 carries for 845 yards and 14 touchdowns, 6 receptions for 113 yards and 3 touchdowns. He had a total of 17 pancake blocks too. Vigil has very good athletic ability due to his very good speed, acceleration, good change of direction and balance. He is a hard hitting linebacker and has very good tackling. He’s a hard hitter making the ball carrier pay. Vigil is a physical player, and rips the ball from the offensive. Very good mental processing to consistently watch the QB. As a running back, he has good change of direction and will use jump cuts to switch into a different hole. He has a good stiff arm, and is hard to bring down. He excels as a blocker. Uses a low pad level and very good strength to overpower and create running lanes. Very good hand placement to control and steer. Vigil also has very good catching and plucks the ball out of the air. He is a very exciting player, and colleges NEED to look at this tape.

Vigil is an exciting versatile prospect. The RB/LB/KR made his impact for Forge Christian throughout the game. He had 8 carries for 47 yards, 2 touchdowns, 2/2 for 27 yards passing, 5 total tackles (10 solo, 5 assisted), 1 sack, 3 kick returns for 116 yards with 81 yards being his longest. Anytime Dante touched the ball, a play was made. He thrives as a linebacker. He has very good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, change of direction, and good speed. Vigil’s very good mental processing is on full display. He continuously watches the QB’s eyes leading him to the ball carrier. He’ll identify the gap and rush it leading to a sack or TFL. Vigil is a very good tackler. He uses his very good strength to wrap up the defender and pull them down. He brings that same energy to the running back position. He runs with a head full of steam, using his good vision to identify the holes. If one was filled, he used his very good COD to jump cut into the next hole. Exciting performance by the senior who should have colleges looking his way.

Vigil is a versatile talent that is excelling at both RB and LB. On offense Vigil is a nightmare for defenders when he gets into the open field. His vision allows him to find running lanes, and he has the ability to make the first defender miss, resulting in explosive plays. On defense his physicality and awareness make him a force to be reckoned with. He is will be two-way player that teams will have to account for and will be in store for an impact season.
