Apple Valley’s Eastview High School has been putting out some high quality RBs the last few cycles and my favorite of the bunch goes to 2024 5’11, 190 lb. Damon Green, already a 2x All-District pick going into his senior season. With a host of Missouri Valley and Northern Sun institutions having already contacted the junior, PRzMN isn’t the only one to take notice of his talents. Last fall, Green showed some off impressively shifty hips and cuts, using great timing and last-second breaks to keep would-be tacklers guessing and on their heels when trying to corral him at the contact point. Green does a good job of getting skinny and presenting a small and limited area going into contact, sees the field well, and is dangerously quick in space and 1-on-1 tackling situations. I’d like to see some longer runs from the Eastview Lightning standout as a senior, but I love the junior tape and he made some defenders look very silly in 2022.

The must-know Eastview 2024 RB is averaging 115 rushing YPG and is sitting at 4 TDs at the midway point of the regular szn. I like what I see, to say the least. Green is dangerous in the open field and has thrown out some nasty cuts at attempted tacklers in 2022. His ease at getting defenders off balance allows him to use his stiff-arm efficiently and I like his soft hands in the pass game as well. I can’t wait to watch him keep making people miss!

Live Eval: Damon is a RB prospect I have gotten to watch a ton since he was a freshman and is one of the big reasons why I believe this Eastview roster has a lot of upside over the next year or two. Damon really impressed me in practice with the work of his football IQ, as he showed excellent leadership qualities I would want in my locker room if I was an HS or college coach as he shows great accountability on and off the field with his teammates. Damon also showed significant finish in his burst ability when he had room in the open field to progress forward. Damon shows an agile ability with his footwork inside and can bounce to the open field outside to pave the way to use all that speed he has in his arsenal to the table. I also like Damon’s durability in the redzone to lower his shoulder despite not being the biggest RB out there; he shows a fearless demeanor that go outside the measurables he shows off. There is not a doubt in my mind this young man has the tools to play on Saturdays, and I believe would be an excellent prospect in the Missouri Valley in the coming the years.
