Simmons has the ideal frame and length for the next level with growth potential due to his size and frame. He projects as a true edge in college, and plays with heavy hands, a quick lockout and creates immediate knock-back across the line of scrimmage. He has a quick first step, does a good job setting the edge and defeating reach blocks while able to anchor down and dent pullers coming across the line and plays with good leverage and a strong base against drive blocks. Still working as a diverse pass rusher, he has a few power rush moves at his disposal, and will only continue to grow and develop as a natural bender/edge rusher throughout his career.

Simmons is still a developing prospect but has the ideal frame and length for the next level along multiple positions across the defensive line. He is a heavy striker with a quick first step and gets immediate lockout out of his stance while able to control blockers with ease. He plays with a high motor and natural bend around the edge while flashing a quick use of hands in tight windows. Simmons shows relentless pursuit backside and has closing speed when collapsing the pocket. At 6’4″+ he has tons of growth potential at the next level and upside and should draw college interest through his senior season.
