Blakewell issued a statement with his play as a Mason City sophomore in 2025. The linebacker/offensive lineman delivered 30.5 tackles, 21 of which were of the solo variety. He recorded 3.0 tackles for loss and picked off a pass. Blakewell shows us how he gets the job done with the individual game clips posted on his Hudl page. On them, we witness a prospect capable of blowing up the plans of the opposing offense. Blakewell is a high-motor player that flies to the football, doing so with balance and under control. He moves well laterally and in a straight-line. Those traits along with active hands to get off of blocks frequently lead him to the tackle. Blakewell runs well with fluid movements that aid him in covering receivers. His skill set would be an asset on special teams. A big-time junior season could very well be loading for Blakewell.
