Yanney is a developing corner measuring in at 5’9 150-pounds. He has good athletic ability due to good acceleration, speed, change of direction, and jumping. Good jamming the WR and re-route attempts. Yanney demonstrates a good back pedal with solid torso fluidity. Does a great job in run support. Good block shedding and get off speed to disengage wideout blocks. Yanney gets low to tackle and makes sure the ball carrier stays down. With an off-season focused on refining his technique, I’m looking forward to see how he does this upcoming season.
Yanney is a developing prospect who showed flashes of potential throughout the showcase. While still considered a raw talent, he demonstrated traits that suggest a strong foundation to build upon. Yanney’s athleticism and willingness to compete were evident, as he found moments to impact plays and hold his own against quality competition. Like many young prospects, refinement in technique and consistency will be key areas of focus moving forward. The offseason will be critical for his growth, providing an opportunity to sharpen his fundamentals and expand his understanding of the game. With continued development, Yanney has the tools to evolve into a much more polished and impactful player.
Yanney is in a position to make his varsity debut this season and he brings intriguing tools to the table. He’s quick in and out of his breaks, with smooth transitions that allow him to mirror receivers in man coverage. Yanney will benefit from spending another offseason in the same system, giving him familiarity with the scheme and room to improve his physicality. Adding strength will be key, but the natural athleticism is there. If he puts it all together with speed, technique, and physical development, he could emerge as one of the more versatile DBs in this class. He’s definitely an up and coming prospect to monitor.
