Tahlihina wide receiver Cy Ammons Cy Ammons WR/DB Talihina | 2027 State OK is a receiver who does an excellent job creating separation and consistently finding ways to get open. He runs good routes and does a great job sinking his hips at the top of his routes, allowing him to create space for the quarterback to deliver the football. He has a strong catch radius and displays excellent hand-eye coordination, making several acrobatic catches on film. Ammons isn’t afraid to compete for the football and will go up and make difficult catches when necessary. He also has the ability to stretch the field vertically and create explosive plays downfield. What makes Ammons exciting is what he can do once the ball is in his hands. He has the athleticism and playmaking ability to turn a routine reception into a big play. His combination of route running, ball skills, catch radius, and ability to create after the catch makes him a receiver who can make things happen every time the football comes his way.

After a breakout sophomore season, 2027 wide receiver Cy Ammons Cy Ammons WR/DB Talihina | 2027 State OK had a terrific junior season that saw his numbers go up in just about every category. Ammons became one of the top targets in the passing game, finishing with 70 catches for just over 1,400 yards and 21 touchdowns. Ammons flourished in the playoffs, having some of his best games in the postseason. He had ten catches for nearly 150 yards and two touchdowns in their semifinal win over Fairland. In fact, you look at his game log and you see that he’s a touchdown machine. He caught at least one touchdown pass in all but one game throughout the 2025 football season. 

Junior wide receiver and defensive back Cy Ammons Cy Ammons WR/DB Talihina | 2027 State OK will return after a breakout season in 2024. Ammons emerged as the team’s top threat in the passing game, leading the team with well over 1,300 yards and tied for the team lead with 12 touchdown receptions. Ammons was also equally as valuable on the defensive side of the ball. The Talihina sophomore finished the 2024 season with five interceptions, which led the Golden Tigers on that side of the ball. That two-way ability makes him one of the more intriguing playmakers to watch as we head into the 2025 football season. Last year was a breakout season but now, Ammons expects to produce in a major way.
