Cooper was an under the radar 2027 prospect that caught my attention out of Dell Rapids. As an evaluator, I always pay attention to those athletes that after they are given a new concept as a route-runner that work while they are in line to try and get their steps down and nail down the details. We saw it work for Cooper in his next live rep and beyond by constantly doing just that in between reps as he flashed his change of direction quickly at the top of his routes. He doesn’t have any tape right now as of yet, but surely could be one to watch for as a slot receiver for the Quarrers this falls.

Cooper was signed up on the other side of the ball, but yet impressively came away as one of our top performers amongst the wide receiver group at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase in Aberdeen. He was one of the first wide receivers to catch my attention, as I liked how agile he was with his change of direction for his size as it was evident in watching him as a route-runner that he could seperate from the defensive backs. I had him orginally graded as a running back, but as you can tell that Cooper has a plethora of position flexibility on both sides of the ball as one that I could see as a slot-receiver as his best fit. He also was third out the 120+ athletes in the pro shuttle with a 4.37.

Cooper is a running back prospect out of Dell Rapids, that despite being on the smaller side as a tailback, is one that I have seen live reps of what he can do for the Quarriers. What checked out for Cooper in my eyes came down with his vision, and you can tell this young man is one that has patience before he hits his hole. One I will be looking for more tape from in the near future.
