Player Bio
About me
My name is Connor McElheny. I play football for Bishop Guilfoyle High School in Altoona, PA. As a Junior, I started all 11 of our games as a Guard and Defensive End. I had 9 sacks, 75 tackles (22 solo and 53 assisted), 8 tackles for loss, and 2 forced fumbles. I led my team in sacks and was third on the team in tackles.
What position(s) do you play? What do you view as your strengths?
I play Guard and Defensive End. Although undersized as a lineman at 206 lbs., I am one of the strongest players on my team. I currently bench press 365 pounds and am tenacious in the weight room. I am frequently faster than the opposing linemen and that has led me to being the sack leader on my team. I pride myself on my agility and footwork and that makes me very effective as a pulling Guard.
What type of school are you looking for?
I am looking for a school that has an excellent reputation for academics and that is willing to let me prove my value to the team. I’d like to play high level football but am open to competing at any level. I’d like to stay on the east coast and would like to study Mathematics / Quantitative Finance. I believe that I will be best suited to play OLB or DE/Edge Rusher or FB/TE at the next level.
What are your interests outside of Football?
Outside of football, I love ice hockey. I previously played travel hockey but now play ice hockey for the Altoona Mountain Lions since my high school does not offer an ice hockey program. You’ll find me in the weight room every day. I love working out and setting new personal lifting records. I also enjoy spending time with my girlfriend, friends, and family.
Closing Statement
I’d like to thank you for taking time to learn more about me and I look forward to meeting you. I believe that I can compete with anyone and would love to prove how I can be a valuable member of your team. If you are interested in recruiting me, you won’t be disappointed. Please text or call me if you would like to further discuss opportunities for me to join your team.
