Brinton isn’t the biggest back you’ll find, but he’s explosive and has flashed as a complete back this season. He’s been efficient, with nearly 600 yards on just over 100 carries, and he’s flashed as a pass-catcher out of the backfield with a few long catch-and-runs. He’s still developing, but in a strong running back class, he’s a guy to watch over the next few seasons.

An All-Conference selection last season in his freshman year, Connor is getting his high school career off to a strong start. Connor also reports an impressive 4.25 GPA on his Twitter/X profile. My colleague Will Helms wrote about Connor recently so I won’t belabor what he does on the field too much, but he will be expected to be a key focal point in the Comets’ offensive attack for sure this upcoming season.

After playing just one game at the junior varsity level (and running for over 80 yards on just four carries) Brinton came up to the varsity level where he was Asheboro’s leading rusher. Brinton has excellent speed and shiftiness and isn’t afraid of contact. There’s plenty of room for him to grow and he should get more dangerous as he puts on more weight.

Brinton ran for 81 yards on four carries in his first JV start and that was enough for the Asheboro staff to elevate him to the varsity level, where he continued to put up great numbers as a freshman. He ran for over 1,000 yards thanks to a downhill running style that works perfectly in Asheboro’s pistol-heavy system. He hits the hole first, then makes guys at the second level miss. He’s not the most powerful back you’ll find, but he’s shifty and hard to wrap up.
