Conner Welch is an outstanding two-way prospect. At 6-foot-5, 220 pounds, he has the physical tools with a good, lean frame. Welch can jump routes, time the ball well and break up passes; and drops into coverage well, snatches the ball out of the air on interceptions. Very tough run defender who can deliver big hits and possseses great instincts. Has the ability to be a big-time H-back who can drive his feet on contact and create open lanes. Welch is also a threat in the passin game and flashed excellent production at times last year, snatching nine balls for 233 yards in one game last season.

Welch is a talented TE hidden in a small school who checks all the boxes you’re looking for. He’s got the length and frame for Saturdays. He’s a good athlete and can bend fairly well. He can high-point the ball and then go over the middle. He’s got a good vertical and gives the offense an advantage down in the red area. He’s good after the catch and has an extra gear. He’s also a highly productive defense recruit who makes plays all over the field. He’s got good vision and instincts on the field. If he went to a bigger school, he’d likely be highly sought after, and as of today, he will be an absolute steal for whoever takes a shot on him.
