Conner certainly didn’t have his best game when we got to see him, but you could see the flashes of brilliance we have come to expect from Conner. He’s a physical receiver with good size and very sticky hands. He didn’t just do it with the ball, as he was also a selfless blocker who stays engaged until the whistle. He has all of the potential makings of a star in the GLIAC, and he currently sits with a GVSU offer. I’ll be really excited to see what he can do at the next level with his current skillset.

Conner came to play in a game where IKE was a pretty big underdog.
Offensively, Conner proved to be a near-elite deep target. While he didn’t necessarily win separation, Conner was able to box out the DB and come down with those 50/50 balls. On top of that, Conner has the perfect size to be that physical X receiver at the D2 level. It’s extremely difficult to stand out in the GLIAC, but I’m more confident than ever that Conner will be able to break through.
This postseason, Conner has a chance to make a name for himself. Immediately going against a great defense (Romeo) then likely facing an even better defense (Dakota), Conner needs to be on his A game. If he plays lights-out on both sides of the ball, IKE has a shot to make the semis!

Conner exploded out of the gate and was the biggest reason IKE was able to get out to a 14-0 lead.
Early in the first, Conner came down with a few great 50/50 balls. There was one in particular where he came down with a very difficult catch on (I think) 3rd and long. Later in the game, Connor had a scoop-and-score TD (shown in the Tweet below).
In terms of college upside, I think Conner is severely underrated. First off, I really like his size. He’s definitely 6’2 and has long limbs. On top of that, he has great body control and is an elite 50/50 guy. Conner can also climb the ladder and high-point balls that smaller DBs don’t have a chance to get. Finally, Conner is a very high effort player on both sides of the ball. He received a lot of targets, and ran extremely hard on each and every route. Defensively, Conner attacked the football and was very opportunistic.
The only big question with Conner is his route running. Most of his routes seemed to be deep go’s posts, etc. I didn’t watch Conner run any comebacks or other short routes, and I don’t see any from this season on Hudl. I also didn’t watch Conner when be blocked, so that’s a bit of a question.
All in all, I don’t see why Conner doesn’t have many other GLIAC offers. He has the size, and he has the skill. Grand Valley State is (in my opinion) the best in-state recruiter in the GLIAC. They don’t take offers lightly, and I know they must be confident in Conner. Wherever he ends up, I can say confidently that

Conner is another prospect that I’ve seen a good amount from on Twitter this offseason, and his efforts have paid off with a GV offer.
Watching his film, Connor had a breakout 2023 season, being an incredibly good X receiver. The first couple minutes of his highlight tape is chock-full of explosive plays downfield. Most of these plays consist of a deep post/streak route, sometimes showing off his great contested catch skills. That said, I can see why GV offered, because he’d fit flawlessly within the GV offense. He isn’t bad in the short-mid game either. Conner received some screens and did decent work after the catch, and he has a few targets over the middle as well. I also think Conner could develop a bit more athletically. All in all, there’s no doubt that Conner has a few amazing traits and he’s 100% a high-tier GLIAC prospect in my eyes.

Conner has been a good receiver in the MAC Red for quite a while, and I think this will be the summer where his recruitment gets going. Good size at 6’2″, good instincts and a great amount of Varsity experience will be very attractive to colleges. His film shows some flashes, but not a ton of production for the 2023 season. With a lot of graduating seniors for IKE, Conner should also have a higher workload.
