About Colton

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I play with a physical, aggressive edge while staying smart and composed. I’m versatile—able to make plays with my arm and legs—and I prioritize decision-making and teamwork to keep the offense moving efficiently.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a competitive, team-first mentality. I stay calm under pressure, focus on making smart decisions, and lead by example. I’m driven to improve every day and bring energy and confidence to my teammates.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve developed leadership by taking charge in high-pressure situations and keeping my teammates focused. Teamwork is a big part of my game—I communicate clearly, encourage others, and make sure everyone feels involved. Off the field, I’ve contributed through community service projects like youth camps and volunteering, which taught me responsibility and how to give back.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One significant challenge I faced was when a key teammate went down with an injury, and I had to step up and take on a bigger role. It pushed me to elevate my leadership, stay composed under pressure, and make sure the team stayed confident and focused. That experience taught me how to adapt quickly and lead by example when the team needed me most.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that values both academics and athletics. I want a program that challenges me on the field and in the classroom, with coaches who develop players and teammates who push each other to succeed. A positive culture, strong support system, and opportunities to grow as a leader are important to me.

Another intriguing prospect from the class of 2027, Colton has yet to take a varsity snap for the Wildcats, but has led his teammates at the lower levels to an abundance of wins. A dual threat talent, Colton has speed and power to play the position and does his full load of work in the off-season to improve his skills and technique. That work has already paid off as Eastern Michigan has shown interest in his potential.
