In a game with a lot on the line regarding postseason positioning, Prairie took the field at Iowa City West Friday without its top rusher from the last two seasons. No matter. Hobson stepped into the leading role and ran with it, literally. The senior carried 28 times for 229 yards (8.2 YPC) and two touchdowns. He added two receptions for 20 yards. On defense, Hobson helped shut down a potent Trojan passing attack with consistent blanket coverage, including a 40-yard Pick-6. Doubling his season output on the ground in one game, he showed he could be counted on as a lead back, illustrating a well-rounded skill set as a ball carrier. Hobson is athletic and fast with lateral quickness and burst. He looked proficient in the secondary, too, and is an interesting prospect for the next level, where his versatility can be cultivated.

Prairie is a program that’s consistently produced quality prospects for the next level. It’s especially deep with them at the moment. That can lead to talented prospects sometimes getting lost in the shuffle. That’s kind of the case with Hobson, who authored a fine junior season in 2025. Ther versatile performer carried 28 times for 159 yards and two touchdowns. On defense, he totaled 33.0 tackles with 26 of the stops being solo. He recorded 4.5 tackles for loss, a sack and an interception. He blocked a punt and gained 30 yards on three returns. His 11th-grade highlight video reveals a dynamic athlete that could work at multiple positions in college. His best fit right now appears to be a safety whose athleticism helps him stick with receivers in coverage and physicality aids in run support. Special teams’ contributions also add to the profile.
