About Collin
Expert Analysis
Sam Erman | Prep Redzone Scout
Cantrell is a good, strong runner who plays with solid pad level. He stays square to the line, protects the ball well, and shows the ability to finish runs, especially in the red zone. He runs with control and doesn’t give away extra contact. He finished with 190 yards and 4 TDs in a smaller sample size last year. I like the way he runs and think he’s set up to take on a bigger role heading into year three.

as a two-time Regional Player of the Year Honorable Mention Team selection, I can’t fathom a scenario where the eighth-grade Eagles are in the Region 3 championship game without the play of

. Lining up at quarterback, middle linebacker and punter this season, Cantrell was a constant spark all season long. He’s a shorter, thicker kid that picked up his fair share of yards on the ground as he operated the Wishbone Offense at a high level. As a middle linebacker, he did a great job of patrolling the tackle box and was in on a ton of stops throughout the season. Long term, look for him to shine as a linebacker for as long as his playing days take him–he’ll be a nice player for Johnson County over the next four years.
