Cole Palek is a disruptive outside linebacker/edge rusher who plays for Hingham (Mass.) High School. He landed his first Division I offer from first-year Penn coach Rick Santos in early April. Palek also plays basketball for Hingham, and he uses his 6-foot-3 frame to his advantage when rushing the quarterback, as he is often able to knock the ball down on pass plays. His athleticism may be his No. 1 strength. He runs well and shows the ability to fight through traffic to get to the quarterback or ball carrier, but sometimes can rush too far upfield. Palek is also a sure-tackler. His frame can certainly add weight and he’ll probably have to do so to play on the edge in college.
